What just happened?

Not sure if it was my imagination or not. We have a small “water closet” on the ground floor and while visiting it last night I closed the door tight. The rooms were warm last night (70 – 74). Then out of the blue, the door swung open wide as if someone had yanked it open. Of course I said “what the @(#*” and realized that the room had instantly gone ice cold.  Not saying it was a ghost, but it did seem a bit disconcerting at 1AM in the morning.

Afterlife, beyond the vail, etc.

Seems that everyone has a specific idea of what happens after we die. In BeatleJuice the receptionist for the afterlife social services made a comment “This is how I died, that is how he died and that is how he died…”  It is very personal and individual. At least that is what the gist of what she was trying to say. To me I believe where we end up is our choice in the end. People keep telling me there is no after life, but if there was no afterlife then 1. why are we here? 2. how come there are ghosts who contact us?
We might not always hear or see the ghosts, but have you ever been in a place and felt someone was nearby, watching. How about smelling pipe, cigar or cigarette smoke when no one around you is smoking? How about the chill or the perfume? I have been visited by ghosts who wanted me to pass on messages to loved ones, or hear whispers when I was all alone. When my mother in law passed on, I didn’t know she was ill, and I saw her in a dream. She was in a hospital gown and asked me to tell her stepson, my husband that she loved him and would watch over us. She also told me to not worry about her because she was going to a better place. I woke up and took down the time. When I was going to work I told mom that her other son was going to call and to ask when she had passed. to make a long story short, I found that she passed a few minutes before I woke up. AND she was in the hospital when she did. That was proof enough for me.
My thoughts? I don’t think there is a hell. I believe that we go where WE BELIEVE we are going. If we believe we are going to hell, it will be a hell as we believe it to be. If we believe there is no afterlife then we probably will close our eyes and never awaken. For me I see death as the doorway to another adventure. How about everyone else. Have any of you ever had these experiences? Thoughts?

People and ghosts.

I have noticed that there are a whole lot of skeptics out there, not only about magic but about ghosts. Both exist, and I know if people would open their minds, they might be able to actually experience them Ghosts are mostly those who forgot to move on or preferred to stay between life and death. Most are not even malevolent! They are not like what the movies portray them to be … Nor are they evil demons trying to turn us to the dark side. They can be felt, sensed, experienced. I am not saying there is no evil out there, I am just pointing out that between the so called Christians and the media these Ghosts have gotten a bad rap. I believe those who get hurt from these so called hauntings have actually asking evil to come into their homes. Why do you think that witches and other truly spiritual people cleanse their places of any negativity in their homes and other places.  Now I am sure that people will diss this and say I don’t know what I am talking about, but I have found it to be true though my own experiences.  Research it and see.

Rhythm and spirits

I find that music, rhythm, song and dance seem to stir the spirits, both in our bodies and those outside. I believe the ancients knew this as well. Drums, flutes and other forms of musical and rhythmic instruments were always a part of ritual and spirits. The shaman use this in many of their rituals which include calling their ancestors. So did and do the African tribes. I am closest to the veil when certain music is being played. It is my connection to those who have passed before me!

Ghosts are tired of this weather too … I think …

I know I should have drug out the camera or at least posted this last night, but I had to think on it because I am still not sure what exactly happened. At around 1:30 AM my dog had just gone out for (what I had hoped) was the last time. (Sometimes she is restless and goes out several time in the wee hours of the morn) When she came in, she got a bit restless and I started hearing something that sounded like someone was trying to get in. I turned on the porch light and looked around, but no one was outside. I was in the negatives last night.  This happened three times over the early hours and just prior to her going out. The first time she came in I found huge hand prints on the window pointing North. The second time I found another set pointing South. Then nothing. The fingers were long and extended. The hand print was larger than my husband’s. I told my husband and he said the prints were his and it was an animal trying to get in. The problem is there were no prints in the snow and the hands did not fit my husband’s prints. Seems I am the only one who saw them. I would like to think that the resident ghost(s) were having cabin fever and were trying to get out! Nice thought.

Death and Religions

It seems every belief has their own take on death.  Monotheists spout hell-fire and brimstone, demons and punishment … at least some of them do. Polytheists talk about reward or punishment, not necessarily you are going to hell, but you return to learn your lessons in life.  I believe that the “Book-Religions” out there use death as a way to corral more people for their followings.  They frighten people in to questioning their common sense and accept a Satan/Demon as a scape-goat for their wrong doing! Pagans take responsibility for their wrong doings and try to do what is right. Pagans know that ghosts are NOT demons. They know that if they accept the existence of  demons they invite evil into their lives.

Pagans also have another point which the book religions seem to ignore. There is an afterlife and at certain times of the year you CAN talk to the dead and get answers back. Pagans seem to have open minds while other beliefs say are evil or impossible. They are freer with their faith sometimes than the book religions.

The true definition of Religion is 2 or more gathered together sharing and SPREADING their spiritual beliefs INCLUDING the belief there is not GOD/Deities. Something to think about.

My Nordic guardian

I use to do in-home care as well as photography. While doing this I became friends with a man who was the direct descendent of Eric the Red.  He was well over 6’5″ and very lean. His father came to America from Norway so he and his sister were 1st generation American citizens.  He became like a second father and taught me old school photography.  He passed away in 2003. Several months later he appeared to me in a dream in full viking regalia with his little British wife by his side. He shook his finger at me, which confused me. He did so again for several nights after. Finally I asked him if he wanted me to call his sister. He shook his head (vigorously) yes.  I did, and found out she had been having the same dreams.  Several months later he did it again. I called her the next day and found out a friend was very sick. You see, I finally figured out that he wants me to keep in touch with his sister and her with me. It works out well. I was told about new grand children, illnesses in the family, trips to Norway and just to cheer her out of loneliness. He also seems to have peeked my interest in the old Nordic religions of the Vikings. I believe that he was a viking at heart and is now my guardian of sorts from the afterlife. I miss him terribly, but I also know that he is there if I ever need him.

Living with a ghost.

Seems that my mother and I both live in houses with ghosts. I KNOW my dad stayed on for a year or so after he passed because our dog “Bunny” would sit in front of his chair and cock her head from side to side as if listening. And no one but he and grand pa smoked yet years later I would smell Grandpa’s favorite tobacco, or dad’s cigarettes.  Where we live now, I have the ghost of the former owner of the house. She is a really nice presence, and tends to show me where the best bargains are when we need something to add to or fix in her home. Sometimes I think it is because we care for her dog, but she has always giving us friendly vibes in the house.

At my mom’s there are the ghosts of pets which had passed not too long ago, as well as a visiting ghost of my cousin and another whom the residents of the area claimed had been there for many years prior. I know because I have felt them and even saw the shadows as they passed me, letting me know that someone had arrived unexpectedly or helping me find things that were lost for several days. They even gave comfort where there was none to be found.

Bump in the night

I started thinking back on all the places I really felt something. I am not talking emotionally, but felt as in as if something was around that we could not see. For another example would be when I visited Arizona. We were looking at lots which we were thinking of placing a bid on. The area had been burnt out, and it felt as if the spirits of dead animals were all about. Sometimes as the winds picked up it seemed as if I felt those spirits going right through me, their pain and sorrow hanging heavy on the air, begging me to help them go on. I closed my eyes and held out my arms, willing them to come to me and pass on to where they would be at peace.

The man who had brought us up there watched me warily and I could tell he felt them too though he refused to admit to it. Later he asked what I was doing. I replied that I was giving comfort to the spirits. He didn’t say anything but gave me a wide birth after that. This was not the first time I experienced these things nor would it be the last.
